THE NEW WELCOME BENCH IN THRUSH

MArch 7, 2020

Thrush Court Welcome Bench

Eagle HOA residents Linda, Mary, Marsha, Bev, Lynn and Ron celebrate the new Welcome Bench at the entrance to Thrush Court. Mary contributed the bench so residents and guests would have a place to relax. The Gardening Committee provided flowers, and Marsha and several other Thrush members contributed the wall hanging behind the bench.

Apron Party

1/25/19

The Eagle Social Committee planned an Apron Party. The gentlemen attending were asked to choose the finest apron.

…AND THE WINNER IS — GAIL! 🥳

“THE SHED”

Thanks to Doug and Gail and Pat and a few other volunteers, we now have a shed for storing the Gardening Committee’s wares, as well as historical papers from Board meetings and such. But it was no easy task to build the shed in early January, 2019. Here are a few examples of the work that was done…

ROMEOs & JULIETs

eggs-and-bacon

Every Wednesday morning—52 times per year—members of Eagle Condo Association gather at various local restaurants for breakfast. The ladies are known as JULIETs (Just Us Ladies Independently Eating Together), and the gentlemen call themselves ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out). Every Wednesday morning the ROMEOs and JULIETs meet at a local restaurant for breakfast. A bit of nonsense, lots of laughs, catching up on details of families and friends, and reviewing the business of the Association complete the conversations of the day. Summertime, when most members are pretending to be Snowbirds, the remaining ROMEOs and JULIETs enjoy breakfast together. In the winter we disperse into separate groups—ROMEOs go one way and JULIETs head off in a separate direction, each with their own litany for conversation: football vs. grandchildren. Reminders are emailed every weekend to ensure all members are kept informed of where we’re headed.

The Social Committee also schedules frequent “coffees” and other get-togethers throughout the year. Go to the “Events” page for examples.
